Raw Food Breakfast Ideas

Eating raw meals has become a way of life for raw food dieters, and for those people whose diet includes eating clean. Getting more raw foods in your daily diet helps you take in food with the most enzymes and nutritional value, which are otherwise diminished by cooking. This way of eating brings a lot of health benefits, such as improved digestion, increased energy, clearer skin, leaner weight, lower cholesterol levels, lower insulin levels and a better overall health.

Start your day the right way by eating raw. Breakfast foods are usually cooked, so you may wonder what to eat. Here are some great breakfast ideas to try:

Raw Nut Milk

Nut milk can be your raw food alternative to your pasteurized dairy milk. This is a great milk option for vegans and vegetarians as well. Drink it as it is, or add it to many breakfast recipes.


  • 1 cup of almonds soaked overnight
  • 4 cups of water


  1. Soak the almonds overnight.
  2. Discard the water and rinse.
  3. Add the almonds and water to a nut milk machine and blend for 30 seconds or so. 

Banana and Berry Porridge

Bananas and berries are yummy fruit toppings you can add to your morning oats. 


  • 1 cup of rolled oats, soaked overnight
  • 1 sliced banana
  • 1 cup of fresh berries
  • Nuts and seeds (optional)


  1. Soak the oats the night before so they can be easily digested.
  2. Discard water and rinse. You may add a little fresh water or some nut milk if you want.
  3. Add the banana and berries.
  4. Add some nuts and seeds (also soaked overnight) for a more substantial meal.

Fruit and Nut Salad

Breakfast doesn’t get much simpler than this. Mix your favorite nuts and your desired fruits altogether and you have a quick morning meal.


  • A handful of nuts, soaked overnight
  • Seasonal fruit


  1. Just mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and eat.

Banana, Blueberry and Nut Milk Smoothie

Bananas are filling and rich in potassium, but mix them with blueberries and you get substantial goodies like vitamin A, C and cell-protecting phytonutrients. Turn them into a smoothie and you’re good to go.


  • 2 cups of nut milk (see recipe above)
  • 1-2 bananas
  • 1 cup of blueberries


  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until you have a smoothie consistency.
  2. Serve and drink. You can also add a handful of nuts of seeds if you want a more substantial drink.

Raw Oatmeal with Apples and Cinnamon

Oatmeal can be soaked overnight to be softened up for breakfast. Add some yummy apple and cinnamon toppings to make it interesting.


  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 1 red apple
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 Medjool dates (or soaked figs or apricots)
  • 2 cups of water
  • Pinch of nutmeg, allspice or clove
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar (optional)


  1. Soak the steel cut oats in 4 cups water overnight.
  2. Soak the dates in 2 cups water to make them blender-friendly.
  3. In the morning, discard the water from the oats and rinse. Set aside.
  4. On a blender or food processor, place the rinsed oats, dates and the two cups of water you used from soaking the dates. This will help the recipe be a little sweeter. Blend or process on high speed for 25 seconds or until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Mixed the chopped apples together with cinnamon and a pinch of the spice you prefer. 
  6. Serve the processed or blended oats on a bowl and top it with your cinnamon apple. Drizzle with agave nectar if you like.

Raw Granola Muesli Cereal

This raw food muesli is incredibly delicious and is perfect for raw food dieters and vegans. It’s like a granola cereal topped with raw nut milk.


  • 1 cup fresh fruit (mango, berries or bananas)
  • ¾ cup nuts 
  • 10 dates (approximately, soaked and pitted)
  • Raw nut milk 
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil 
  • 1 tablespoon fresh raw grated coconut (optional)


  1. Process the nuts, dates and coconut oil together in a food processor until nuts are almost finely ground.
  2. Combine in a bowl with fresh fruit and grated coconut.
  3. Splash with nut milk for added taste.

Fruity Banana Cereal

Start your day right with a fruity concoction that has berries, bananas, Medjool dates, apples and dried fruit.


  • 3 bananas
  • 3 Medjool dates, chopped
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1 cup fresh berries
  • ¼ cup dried fruit of choice


  1. Slice a banana into rounds. Then, place the sliced bananas, dates, apples, berries and dried fruit in a bowl.
  2. Blend the remaining two bananas with enough water to reach your desired consistency for banana “milk.” Pour it over your fruit bowl.

Berry Pomegranate Bowl

Pomegranate has a lot of health benefits as it has high levels of antioxidants than other fruits. Combined with berries, then you get healthy antioxidants galore. Plus, pomegranates help remove excess fats, which is great if you’re trying to lose weight.


  • 2 bananas
  • 1 pomegranate
  • 4 Medjool dates
  • 1 ½ cup frozen mixed berries
  • 2 tablespoons dried mulberries
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds


  1. On a blender, blend bananas, berries, dates and half of the pomegranate. You can add water a little bit at a time to make a thinner consistency if you want.
  2. Pour the blended mixture into a bowl and top it with the remaining half of the pomegranate, dried mulberries and chia seeds.

Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Have some raw cookies for breakfast to satisfy hunger and reduce craving for sugary snacks. This oatmeal cookies enhanced with bananas are slightly crunchy, sweet and very rich in potassium. Warning: This will take hours to do on a dehydrator, so better yet make it a day before.


  • 1 ½ cup oats, ground
  • 1 ½ cup almond meal
  • 1 cup banana
  • ½ cup date paste
  • ¼ cup chia gel (1 tablespoon of chia seeds in ¼ cup water)
  • 3 tablespoons goji berries
  • 3 tablespoons raisins
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt or Himalayan crystal salt
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil


  1. Combine oats, almond meal, banana, date paste, chia gel, vanilla extract, coconut oil, salt, goji berries and raisins in a food processor fitted with a large mixing bowl or S-blade. Mix it well to make a dough.
  2. Shape the dough into your desired shape of cookies. This will be quite sticky, so round cookies will be the easiest choice. 
  3. Place the cookie dough in a dehydrator tray lined with a Teflex sheet. Dehydrate the cookies in 115 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 hours or more, until the outside is completely dry and crunchy.
  4. When the outer side of the cookies are dry enough, flip the cookies to a dehydrator tray without a Teflex sheet. Dehydrate the cookies at same temperature for 6 more hours until the cookies are crunchy and still slightly soft in the middle.

Power Choco Banana Smoothie

For those who love to drink chocolate for breakfast, try out this filling drink. It’s great for active people because it contains bananas and coconut water, which can both balance your electrolyte levels. It’s also a yummy way to drink your protein powder.


  • 1 banana
  • 1 big leaf of kale
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 scoop protein powder


  1. Place all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Serve in a glass and drink.

Chia Pudding with Blueberries

Chia seeds are excellent source of antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, calcium, protein and iron. The fiber and protein content in chia can help you lose weight. Add some blueberries and you get an extra dose of antioxidants.


  • ½ cup white chia seeds
  • 1 ½ cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon agave nectar
  • ¼ cup frozen berries (optional)


  1. Place all ingredients in a bowl and stir.
  2. Leave in fridge overnight to soak, so the chia seeds will become gel-like.
  3. Serve in bowls, garnish with frozen berries and serve.

Raw Apple Cinnamon Toast

Make your own apple-flavored toast for breakfast with your dehydrator. This is a yummy toast that will make you feel like you’re in the countryside. You will need a food processor and a food dehydrator in this recipe.


  • 1 cup walnuts, soaked overnight
  • 1 apple, cored
  • 5 dates, soaked for 15 minutes
  • 1 cup sweet potato, cut into small pieces
  • ½ cup unsweetened apple juice
  • ½ banana
  • 1 cup flaxseed meal
  • ¼ cup flaxseeds
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds
  • ¼ cup raw hulled hemp seeds
  • 1 ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon cardamom
  • Pinch of Himalayan salt


  1. Process the walnuts through the salt in your food processor until it’s nearly smooth. Scrape down the bowl of the processor a few times as you process the walnuts.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the processed walnut with flaxseed meal, flaxseeds, sesame seeds and hemp seeds.
  3. Spread the mixture to your dehydrator sheet just under ½ inches thick and neaten up the edges.
  4. Gently score the dough to your desired shapes.
  5. Place the dough to the dehydrator and dehydrate for 145 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
  6. Turn down the temperature to 115 degrees and continue dehydrating until it becomes dry and very crispy. This may take 20 to 24 hours.
