Tired of being tired? You know exactly what I mean if your mornings find you just as tired as you were when you went to bed!
You know know how it is you got your 8 hours of sleep (yada, yada), but you just cant get over feeling exhausted all the time?
I know Ive felt that way far too often, so when I happened to catch Dr. Oz talking about a little green drink that could help me alleviate that constant overly-tired feeling he had my attention.
Basically, Dr. Oz was talking about how a diet rich in enzymes can increase energy and stamina, as well as support weight loss, healthy skin, and overall good health.
Sounds good to me! Sign me up for some of that juice, Dr. Oz 😉
TURNS OUT IM NOT ALONE!
A lot of the symptoms of low enzymes that Dr. Oz described, are some of the very ones that I have experienced personally, so I started asking around and I found a lot of people were experiencing the exact same symptoms.
Truthfully, Id heard the word enzyme before, but I had no idea what they were or why I needed them. Please tell me Im not alone in this! Ill really feel silly if I am!
Dr. Oz made me wonder more about enzymes. Now my questions were
- What are enzymes?
- Why do I need enzymes?
- What are the symptoms of low enzymes?
- Why are my enzymes low?
WHAT ARE ENZYMES?
Whoa! Hold on Nellie! Thats far too big a question for this girl to answer, but I did do some research for you and if you really want to know more, this article is a really great explanation of what are enzymes
WHY DO I NEED ENZYMES?
Well, lots of reasons but heres a primary one
Without enzymes, no activity at all would take place. Neither vitamins, minerals, or hormones can do any work without enzymes.??~Dr. Edward Howell
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF LOW ENZYMES?
- Floating Stool
- Dull skin
- Hair thinning / loss
- Weak nails
- Mood Swings
How many of these tired of being tired, low enzyme symptoms do you have on a regular basis? Shocking isnt it things that may have made you think Im getting old Im tired of being tired I need to go to bed earlier I need some Ex-Lax or??Imodium whatever your thoughts your symptoms might just indicate low enzyme??activity.
WHERE HAVE ALL THE ENZYMES GONE?
To be sung to the tune of Where Have All the Flowers Gone by Pete Seeger! (LOL, if you get my reference, youre my peeps).
Any-whooo when we were children, we had an abundance of energy ??? ??those were the good ol??? days when we had an abundance of enzymes; as a matter of fact we had enzymes to burn, baby!?? But, as we get older, our enzymes begin to deplete due to lifestyle and environmental factors.
Unfortunately, most of us have created lifestyle and dietary habits that require EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF ENZYMES just to digest our foods. Here are the main enzyme-eater-uppers
- Poor dietary habits (guilty)
- Fast food obsessions (guilty)
- Excessive intake of fat & sugars (guilty)
- Stress (guilty)
OK! Im GUILTY! I get it!
But when we know better, we can do better, right? Thank you, Oprah, for that splendid piece of wisdom!
Fortunately, the above are some of the lifestyle factors we can easily control. OK, easily might be overstating it for some of us (LOL), but we CAN control it with our food choices!
The thing that kept standing out for me aside from all the symptoms above that Dr. Oz had talked about is the connection between low enzymes and that feeling of being exhausted all the time! Thats what caught my attention BIG TIME because
IM READY TO FIX THIS IM TIRED OF BEING TIRED LIFE IM LIVING!
Low enzymes can be directly linked to that tired of being tired feeling, as well as chronic disease,?? overall low energy, aches, pains, and weight gain and you thought you were just getting old I know me too!
ME getting old! Not you! Id never say YOU were getting old 😉
Anyway, I digress now that I know how important enzymes are to my overall health and my bodys happiness Im determined to fix the problem and the good news is, it can be as simple as adding high enzyme foods to my diet on a more consistent basis.
WE DONT HAVE TO LIVE WITH THAT TIRED OF BEING TIRED FEELING!
In fact, we can still enjoy the youthful lifestyle that we enjoyed in years gone by and it can be as simple as focusing a part of our daily diet on foods that are rich in enzymes??(see the list above) at least thats what Dr. Oz says!
Now that I know more about enzymes and how important they are to how I feel in my body on a day to day basis, Im determined to get more enzyme rich foods into my daily diet. When we think about Foods that Heal, enzyme rich foods should be at the top of our list! One of my favorite ways to get a quick nutritional boost in the morning is with healthy smoothie and knowing what I now know about the importance of enzyme rich foods,?? Dr. Ozs Enzyme Boosting Green Drink is going to make a regular appearance in my morning routine. Ive tried it and I give it two thumbs up! Its super yummmmy! According to Dr. Oz, I should not only begin to feel better but I should also lose weight have more energy and less aches and pains before I know it! Sounds good to me! Ill let you know how its going!
What about you? Let me know your favorite ways incorporate enzyme rich foods in your diet or if this is a new thought for you (like it is for me), let me know what you plan to do.
Inquiring minds Nosy girls like me, want to know 🙂
